General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

On May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR; GDPR) will come into force in the European Union, which will have a fundamental impact on how organizations handle individuals' data in accordance with new data protection laws. Online surveys that are at the forefront of consumer, market or employee research also need to be brought into line with current regulations.

Severe penalties await

What does this mean for companies and market researchers operating in the EU? In short, it means that any organization that collects data of any kind must implement a data protocol or risk being penalized with a fine of 4% of total turnover or EUR 20 million, whichever is greater.

Easily create GDPR/GDPR-compliant surveys with the QuestionPro survey software

IMPORTANT: Please check in which data center you set up your user account. For our customers whose user accounts are located on EU servers, GDPR compliance is automatically activated, but the following information must be added and adjusted under the QuestionPro user account settings.

Where can I find deletion requests from my survey participants regarding the “right to be forgotten”?

The right to be forgotten is an essential part of the Data Protection Regulation, and this also applies to data collected through surveys. If a survey participant submits a request to delete their surveys, this will be logged in the system.

And this is how you find the deletion requests:
Scroll to the bottom of the GDPR compliance page where you made your data protection entries and then click “View Deletion Requests”. All deletion requests will then be displayed to you. Here you can now delete the data records.
