77% of all companies use further training opportunities to qualify employees
According to statista.com, companies in Germany invested a total of 2016 billion euros in vocational training in 6,4, according to Schickler Unternehmensberatung and the German trade press. In 2015, an impressive 77% of all German companies used further training measures to qualify their employees, which is shown by the fifth European survey on continuing vocational training in companies. With such immense costs, companies naturally also ask themselves what remains of the knowledge transfer and whether the investments are worth it. If you believe many relevant studies and press reports, only a small percentage of employees use what they have learned. We are often talking about just 10 to 20%. But what is the background?

Personal transfer strength and its contribution to the success of further training measures
A wide variety of factors play a role in the successful absorption and implementation of what has been learned, such as the trainer's teaching skills, the structure of the learning units, the motivation of the participants and ultimately how the newly acquired learning content is handled in one's own company. Another important factor that plays a significant role in the implementation of learning content is personal transfer strength. Some people simply have a higher ability to implement learned knowledge.
What exactly does the term transfer strength mean?
The term transfer strength means the personal competence to put learning and change impulses into practice independently and sustainably. The intellectual father of the TRANSFER STRENGTH METHOD® is Prof. Dr. Axel Koch, since 2012 Professor of Training and Coaching at the University of Applied Management in Ismaning (near Munich).

A high transfer strength is reflected in the following four factors:
- Openness to further training impulses
- Personal responsibility for the success of implementation
- Relapse management in everyday work
- Positive self-talk when faced with setbacks
Personal transfer strength is additionally supported or inhibited by the immediate work environment. An environment is supportive when superiors are interested in implementing training content. Working in a team that values developments or at least development efforts also has a positive effect on the success of implementation. And if there are now sufficient time resources to develop new skills, then a lot has already been done to create a positive implementation culture in your own company.
